Pyronauts Episode 5: Servers Are Busy, Please Try Later

Play

A bit of a short show this time, folks. The gang had to make do without me, and as a result our poor Pyronauts were a little lost.

Fortunately, they managed to remember why they’re here and actually spoke about video games a bit. Other Andrew shares his opinions of the new Tomb Raider game ahead of his actual review going up, Conor tells us some more about how the new Neverwinter game is shaping up, while Levi tries to maintain order.

Their big discussion topic is Sim City. The new version came out just recently, and as Andrew detailed last week, it hit a few snags. And by that I mean it was almost unplayable. EA and Maxis’ decision to have the game, which is primarily singleplayer, require an always-on connection to EA’s servers blew up in their faces. The servers were unable to handle the amount of people trying to connect, meaning players couldn’t at all, or faced hour-long queues to do so.

The guys chat about a few other things, including endless runner style games, mobile gaming, and Kickstarter. Good times.

Yes, we really missed you in our need for 20 more minutes of blather. :P

Are we sure that the 80′ tall Giant Robots haven’t, along with Google Maps, gone ahead and disabled the EA servers, as well?

They’re pretty pernicious, Fabio, but last I heard they were busy with our armies and our wifi :)
