One of the things I get asked the most is when will Giant Fire Breathing Robot release a new video games podcast to replace the dear departed Pyro’s Arcade. Honestly, in my time as Editorial Director, I must have been asked once, if not twice. You asked, and we answered.

So, it give me great pleasure to officially unveil Pyronauts, GFBR’s newest podcast, dedicated solely to video games.

We recently welcomed into our fold two new writers in the Adonis-like shape of Levi Fowler and the man with an intellect to make a Metalunan envious, Andrew Grys, aka callmemerry. Unfortunately, Conor wasn’t able to make it for this episode, but Andrew, Levi and I decided that for the first episode of Pyronauts, we should discuss our Video Game of the Year choices. Over the holidays we gave you, gentle readers, the option to pick your favourite here on the website, but this time round we’ve indulged ourselves a little and attempted to find a game the three of us could all agree upon.

Given that we all like the sound of our won voices, we ran a little long on our inaugural episode, so this one clocks in at just over 2 hours. We hope you all enjoy listening to it at least as much as we enjoyed recording it. We plan on aiming for an hour and half in future, so as not to bore you all too much. We’ll be releasing one episode every fortnight, on Wednesday, so look out for episode 2 on the 30th of January.
