Netflix and Warner Brothers TV Close Deal
According to a press statement from Netflix, the content provider and Warner Bros Television Group have reach an agreement for a 2012-13 network slate deal. This new deal give exclusive online rights for the previous seasons of WBTV shows like Revolution, The Following, Longmire, Political Animals, and 666 Park Avenue. The deal also includes full series rights to Fringe, Chuck, and The West Wing. I know that I, for one, have already begin digging into The West Wing via Netflix Instant.
Discussing the recent news on the agreement, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos explains, “The unprecedented agreement brings to Netflix members earlier and more exclusively than ever before complete previous seasons of some of the most prominent and successful shows on network and cable television. Through deals like this, Netflix is making the production economics right for the continued creation of the kind of compelling serialized dramas and thrillers that our members love.”
Not to be too much of a Netflix shill but with the way they keep adding content, I’m not likely to get rid of their streaming service anytime soon. Does Netflix adding these shows make you itch for a rewatch?
