Marvel HeroClix: The Amazing Spider-Man Preview—Morbius
I love HeroClix. Not Like. Love! But I honestly have to say I have never before been as excited as I am now for a HeroClix character.
Today’s HeroClix preview is from the upcoming Marvel HeroClix: The Amazing Spider-Man, and it’s one of my all-time favorite, sometime-villain, sometime-hero, always awesome Dr. Michael Morbius (aka Morbius, the living vampire)!
The first thing to note with Morbius are two very interesting traits.
The first is called Vampiric Hunger:
Morbius begins the game on click #3. Morbius can use Steal Energy and may use it to heal beyond his starting line, up to click #1.
So basically, this enables Morbius to heal to a more powerful, vamped up version when he does damage to an opponent.
Morbius’ second trait is No Vampiric Weaknesses:
Characters can’t target Morbius with Exploit Weakness.
That’s right. Tough as nails our Morbius. No negating his defense powers, at all, ever.
And speaking of defenses, Morbius has the Indomitable combat ability (built in Willpower) and he kicks off with two clicks of Toughness, two clicks of Super Senses and two clicks of Regeneration, respectively.
Damage-wise, Morbius starts with four clicks of his Antibody Serum Creator special power:
Morbius can use Outwit. When he uses Outwit to counter a power that isn’t a defense power counter that same power on each other opposing character within 10 squares and line of fire.
In his Movement slot, Morbius starts off with Charge for two clicks followed by Stealth for the rest of his dial.
Now what you want is to heal Morbius with his Vampiric Hunger trait to get to his bonus clicks. I mean even without his bonus clicks, Morbius is a formidable piece. But once he’s healed up to his vamped version you have a monster with Charge, Invulnerability, and Perplex.
Weighing in at a hefty 133 points, Morbius has the Spider-Man Ally team ability, allowing him to copy the team ability of any team mate. Morbius also has the Legion of Monsters, Midnight Sons, Monster, S.H.I.E.L.D. and Scientist keywords and I’ll tell you right now, He’s going to see a lot of play on my Legion of Monsters and Midnight Sons keyword teams.
That’s it for today, but rest assured if Wizkids/NECA have any more monstery previews from Marvel HeroClix: Amazing Spider-Man, then you can guarantee I’ll wanna show them off.
Keep on Clixin’.
