Vote for Your 2012 Video Game of the Year

Earlier this week, we posted up our picks for what we thought were the best video games of this year, and now it’s time for you, dear readers, to choose a winner.

First off, we had Levi, who offered up Borderlands 2. Released on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, Borderlands 2 is a balls to the wall mix of explosions, guns and eccentric characters. Despite claiming to have struggled to come to a decision, Levi’s love for the game is obvious in his article.

Coming second was CallmeMerry, with The Walking Dead. A spin-off from the wildly successful comic book and television series, The Walking Dead video game was released in five episodes on PC, PSN and Xbox Live Arcade. It recently won Game of the Year at the Spike Videogame Awards, and is likely to scoop a few more awards before the end of the year arrives.

Finally, I took a turn and nominated Journey as my game of the year. Released as a PSN exclusive, Journey is a magical, enchanting game that transcends the trappings of video games as we know and love them and becomes a genuine work of art.

To cast your vote, simply leave a comment below, telling us which game you think deserves to be our Reader’s Choice Video Game of the Year for 2012. Voting will remain open until 9 PM, Eastern Standard Time on Friday, January 4th. At that time, we’ll count the votes and see who our winner is.
