A truly Legendary expansion! (Image via Upper Deck)

  • Legendary: A Marvel Deck-building Game has rapidly sprung up the rungs of BGG. I gave this game a whirl last weekend and I was mightily impressed. It’s a slick deckbuilder set in the Marvel universe. Would it get continued support though? Upper Deck answered this question recently by announcing a recurring Big-box/ Small box schedule of expansions starting next August. According to their press release, the first 350 card expansion will feature Marvel Knights and X-Force (Cable rocks!). After that, every 3-4 months, a small expansion will be released.

  • From Gale Force Nine we have an expansion for Spartacus called Spartacus: The Serpent and the Wolf. This expansion is going to add house cards for 5-6 players, new schemes and gladiators, as well as long awaited rules for team battles! I just got the base game a week or two ago and have yet to crack it open, but I’ve heard that the team rules are the one thing that is being expected by all.
  • AEG’s long-awaited Euro-trio of Tempest games, Dominare, Mercante, and Courtier are now making their way to stores. Look for them and the fourth game in the Tempest universe, Love Letter, now!
