The CW Finds the Man Behind Deathstroke’s Mask

Although The CW’s Arrow has already shown us Deathstroke, we will soon be meeting the man behind the mask. According to Entertainment Weekly, Arrow is tapping Spartacus co-star Manu Bennett to play Slade Wilson. Comic book fans will know that Slade Wilson as the real name of Deathstroke. Bennett, who plays Crixus on Spartacus, is currently committed to a multiple episode arc. From the EW story we can tell that Slade Wilson will be seen in flashbacks to the island where he and Oliver will begin an uneasy alliance.
With the fact that Deathstroke (in costume) has already met and injured Oliver in island flashbacks, it will be interesting to see how the scenario is played out. Will Slade and Oliver form an actual alliance on the island? Will Slade attempt to setup Oliver while playing the friends? Or will some other situation play out? No matter how the story unfolds, one thing is for sure: Bennett will make for a great physical threat to Oliver as anyone who has seen Spartacus can attest. I, for one, am really looking forward to this bit of casting.
Bennett can next be seen as an orc chieftain in The Hobbit and then in Spartacus early next year.
