Battlestar Showrunner Re-imagining A Knight’s Tale

ABC has been very active recently when it comes to their script acquisitions. Deadline has announced that the newest script commitment coming out of the network is from none other than Ron Moore. Moore is currently working on a TV adaptation of the 2001 movie, A Knight’s Tale, which starred Heath Ledger.

Although the series is still in the development stage, the show is expected to stay close to the plot of the film. Namely, it will be about the journey of our protagonist as he goes from impersonating a knight to becoming one. As with the film, the series is expected to rely heavily on contemporary music as a backdrop.

In buying the rights to the series, ABC is probably seeing it as a good match to its hit Once Upon a Time. Although a series based on the film does not make me anticipate the show, the idea of a series ran by Ron Moore does. What do you think about the possibility of Moore’s return to television or the Knight’s Tale story coming to the small screen?

More information as it becomes available.

I think that a Knight’s Tale is a very poor property on which to base a series. Not only was the movie not good, but it’s so straightforward and predictable. Plus, I hated the inclusion of modern music.

I think Ron Moore can do a lot of good stuff with the right material. But I won’t be holding my breath for this one.
