Whedon Gives S.H.I.E.L.D. Update

During his time in Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival, where his movie Much Ado About Nothing was featured, Joss Whedon took time to give us all an update on the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. television show. In his interview with MTV News, Whedon explained that he is fairly far in the development process for the series. The full framework and cast has already been set.

The series, according to Whedon, will center around all new characters. No Agent Colston, no Maria Hill, and no Nick Fury as main characters in this series. Although the show will fit into the larger Marvel Universe, Whedon explained that it is important to have it Marvel adjacent, not fully integrated. On the subject he explained, “You don’t want to do a show where you’re constantly going, ‘Iron Man just left, but he was totally here a minute ago.’ You want them to do their own thing.”

More information on S.H.I.E.L.D. as it becomes available.

I didn’t see a link to Adam’s new S.H.I.E.L.D. short on GFBR yet, but I’m sure it’s coming soon. Looks like its on Bleeding Cool as well as Blastr. A barrage of positive comments might help this get some traction.
