Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC

“What could be powerful enough to kill a Reaper?” That’s the tagline Bioware are using to sell the latest piece of DLC for Mass Effect 3. Those of us who’ve played through the Mass Effect trilogy know the answer to that: “Not much.”

Still, Bioware will be hoping there are enough loyal fans left over from the Mass Effect 3 ending scandal/uproar willing to find out a more specific answer with the release of the Leviathan DLC.

Someone, somehow has discovered something powerful enough to kill a Leviathan, and it’s up to Commander Shepard and her crew to find out just what’s going on, presumably led somewhere by a suitably ominous and/or anonymous source. There may have been sarcasm in that sentence.

The DLC pack will feature some new planetary systems, new areas on the Citadel, two new guns and weapon mods. It seems safe to assume the DLC takes place prior to the ending of the game given that… certain events… may make post-ending DLC problematic. The trailer also hints at some underwater action for Shepard:

The DLC pack costs 800 MS Points on Xbox, 800 Bioware points on PC, $10 on PS3 and was released on August 28th, so it should be out by the time you read this.
