Plants vs Zombies 2 Announced

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the garden…
Plants vs Zombies was a surprise hit for developers PopCap Games. I say “surprise” because even though every person in the world ever has played Bejeweled or Peggle, a tower lawn defense game where you must strategically place various types of plants on your back lawn to defend your house against waves of zombies hungry for brains doesn’t sound like an immediate hit.
That, among many other reasons, is why I’m not rich and/or famous. Plants vs Zombies was a runaway success on release, so it’s no surprise that PopCap have just announced a sequel. Expected to release in Spring 2013, details are thin on the ground, although the official press release does promise “a bevy of new features, settings, and situations.” Whatever that means.
Alas, spring of 2013 is a long way away yet, so in hopes of tiding you over until then, I’ll include the following video:
