Robert Kirkman‘s Skybound Comics has teamed up with Titan Magazines with the launch of The Walking Dead: The Official Magazine, based on Kirkman’s Eisner Award-winning comic book series and Emmy-winning television series.
Starting in 2003, The Walking Dead kicked off as a monthly comic book out of Image Comics. The strong, three-dimensional characters coupled with the nail-biting action and mind-numbing violence, set against a world fresh off the zombie apocalypse, quickly grabbed the imagination of comic book readers worldwide. Then in 2010, AMC grabbed the comic and introduced The Walking Dead to the television watching masses with the polarizing TV series. Now comes the next logical step in its evolution. Titan, Skybound and AMC present The Walking Dead: The Official Magazine to further enhance your knowledge and answer the burning questions of everything The Walking Dead television show and comics.
What can you expect from The Walking Dead: The Official Magazine? Well, I’m glad you asked. The Walking Dead: The Official Magazine will feature all kinds of goodies, like in-depth interviews with the likes of Kirkman, Glen Mazzara (Showrunner/ Executive Producer/Writer), and David Alpert (Executive Producer). There will also be interviews with the guys in front of the camera including Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies and Jon Bernthal for starters.
The first issue The Walking Dead: The Official Magazine features a behind-the-scenes look at the work of co-Executive Producer and zombie effects master Greg Nicotero. You ‘ll also get a sneak peek behind the closed door writers’ room to learn about the scripting process. Comic-wise, you can ask Kirkman what’s coming up and even see how the series artist Charlie Adlard manages his monthly duties.
The quarterly magazine boasts 100 pages of the latest news, revelations, and tips for fans of the television show and the comic books.
