Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs | Giant Fire Breathing Robot

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs

I don’t know how many of you have played the original Amnesia, but it is pretty much the most terrifying game made in recent history. Personally, I’m only able to play it in daylight, with my roommate home, and for no longer than 30 minutes at a stretch due to acute heart palpitations, sweating, and extreme danger of soiling myself.

The fact that Amnesia manages to induce this kind of terror with little to no active gore or “smash through the window” shock factor is a testament to its unparalleled atmosphere. You have no weapons, many puzzles, creepy sounds, and occasionally giant ravening monsters that can kill you easily but from whom you can only hide and hope they go away.

It’s a game that harkens back to everything that was so perfect about the first Silent Hill game. ¬†And based on this teaser, I am SUPER excited to see what Frictional Games and thechineseroom do with A Machine for Pigs.

As long as the sun’s up.

And I have my teddy.
