Emerald City Comicon 2012: Friday
The Pacific Northwest’s largest comic book convention, Emerald City Comicon, has returned once again! Located in the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle, this year’s show will feature noteworthy guests such as Star Trek’s George Takei, Battlestar Galactica’s Edward James Olmos, and Jason Momoa from Conan. In addition, comic industry legends like Bill Sienkiewicz, Mike Allred, and Kurt Busiek will be in attendance, as well as a slew of voice actors from classics shows such as Animaniacs.
I unfortunately missed the first few hours of ECCC 2012′s grand opening due to work, but rushed down to the convention center with my camera ready to roll. You know I love my costumes, so here’s a look at some of the highlights from my batch of over 100 photos taken on Day One:
Sorry, Scarecrow, but those syringes are no match for a healing factor and Adamantium.
Professor Utonium brainstorms a mixture of sugar, spice, and everything nice.
It’s nice to see citizens obeying Seattle’s leash laws.
Starfleet sends some expendable crew members to safeguard the injured Christopher Pike.
A motivated cosplayer crawls on all fours in order to bring Princess Celestia to life.
I feel bad for mistaking the Great Fairy from Zelda for Poison Ivy, but I have a feeling I’m not the only one who would make that error.
A Clone Trooper protects Queen Amidala during her holiday in Seattle.
Emerald City Comicon’s new mascots, the Crusaderette and Crusader.
Dr. Evil and Mr. Bigglesworth hatch an evil plan to create another Austin Powers sequel.
When he’s not bending steel, Bender journeys to the past and hits up the convention circuit.
Now that the pesky Thor is out of the way, Loki can attempt to bond with his adopted father.
Mr. Mooney! The sinister Moon from Majora’s Mask was my favorite out of Friday’s selection of cosplaying convention attendees.
