Photos from WonderCon 2012
On March 17th, WonderCon made its debut in Anaheim, California. Usually located in the city of San Francisco, the three-day event temporarily relocated due to construction at the Moscone Center. While the venue was different, the convention made sure to bring all the comic book, video game, movie, and television-related fun along for the ride.
A few of the highlights from this year’s WonderCon included panels for upcoming blockbusters like Prometheus and the Amazing Spider-Man, giving eager fans an early glimpse at footage from some of the year’s biggest films. Many celebrities also made scheduled and surprise visits to the convention during these panels, including such names as Jonah Hill, Emma Stone, Joseph-Gordon Levitt, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, and Kristen Stewart. DC Comics also premiered their latest animated film, Superman VS the Elite. The movie received much praise during the special screening, which also gave the audience a sneak peak of their next project, an adaptation of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns.
While not as plentiful as other conventions, the cosplay scene was also fairly active at WonderCon. I managed to grab some quick photos of over 600 costumed characters and models over the course of the weekend. Here’s a look at some of the notable cosplayers:
The Gender Bent Justice League returned to WonderCon with an expanded roster.
Uhhhh… Quinn, isn’t that your cousin?

Despite gaining major Internet fame on sites like Tumblr and reddit because of his Dex-Starr costume, Tony the Cat hasn’t let the celebrity status get to his head.
