The CW Finds its Beauty

One of the most talked about pilots this season is the CW’s upcoming remake of the 1980′s Beauty and the Beast. The network has made even more news with the recent announcement, via Deadline, that Kristin Kreuk will star as the titular Beauty. This role will mark the Canadian born Kreuk’s return to TV. After leaving Smallville she made guest appearances on shows like Chuck as well as roles in movies like Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
On Beauty, Kreuk will play Catherine, “a tough-minded NYPD homicide detective haunted by witnessing her mother’s murder nine years ago and the killers’ quick demise at the hands of a Beast.” The character will then spend her time helping the Beast maintain his identity as a superhero.
Kreuk was a somewhat polarizing figure during Smallville’s run, will she have the same effect here? What do you think?
