First Look: The Avengers Movie Toys from LEGO
LAST WARNING: Movie plot spoilers follow throughout this article! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
With The Avengers ready to hit theatres on May 4, 2012, we are starting to see the tie-in merchandise trickling though. I’m a sucker for movie tie-ins. I get excited, and love collecting stuff to do with my favorite comic book movies. From the pictures below, it looks like The Avengers LEGO is no exception.
First hinted at with a sneak peek of LEGO Hulk at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, this week Marvel provides more of Earth’s Tiniest Heroes from Toy Fair NY 2012.
Captain America’s Avenging Cycle: Indestructible shield in hand, Captain America rides his Avenging Cycle to defeat the general and his foot soldier. Captain America’s Avenging Cycle set comes with 3 minifigures.

Loki’s Cosmic Cube Escape: Escaping from S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Loki swipes the Cosmic Cube. Can Hawkeye in his S.H.I.E.L.D. off-roader and Iron Man prevent Loki getting rowdy on the world? That’s all up to you. Loki’s Cosmic Cube Escape set includes 3 minifigures: Iron Man, Loki and Hawkeye.

I’ll break the seal, here: That Iron Man helmet looks ridiculous. Plus, I can imagine the first thing a lot of people will do is custom-paint one of the LEGO samurai breastplates to be Iron Man’s armor. The flat painted look just makes me queasy…
That said, I’ll probably buy at least one Hawkeye so I can have a Jeremy Renner LEGO option.
I’m mostly keen for that Hulk. But I can see me having a great time with all of them
Is the Iron Man head a mask on top of a regular head, instead of interchangable IronMan/TonyStark heads? It looks like a bobble head figure.
Hulk is always my favorite. But why the secrecy on his face? Won’t he just have the angry lego face look on there? Why can’t we see that?
The Captain America figure looks great.
Rapa Nui Iron Man Rocks! As does the Green Cousin IT! What boggles my mind is, why isn’t Captain America using that handy shield holder on the back of his bike? I’m hoping I don’t have to buy the Cosmic Cube Escape pack just to get that awesome Loki figure. There’s a LEGO minifigure set waiting to happen (i.e. LEGO Super-Minifigures).
