Come to Gamestorm!

Gamestorm 14 is coming soon–March 22nd through the 25th, in fact–so request the work days off, pack up, and head down (or up) to Vancouver.

Gamestorm, if you’re not familiar with it (or if the name didn’t tip you off) is a tabletop game convention in Vancouver, WA at the Hilton Vancouver. Registration is $40 until March 7th, when it ups to $45 as the door price.

I’ve been twice, and it’s always a good time, whatever you’re into. Expect to see D&D of various flavors, minis/board/card games & associated tournaments, a whole programming block of the con devoted to indie RPGs, maybe a LARP or two, some video games, a dealer’s hall, panels, and a complimentary snack room.

Also expect to meet some interesting people. The official guests of Gamestorm this year are Jason Buhlman, lead designer of Pathfinder, and Andrew Hackard and Samuel Mitschke, the Munchkin Czar and Head Production Manager at Steve Jackson Games, respectively.

Also rumored to be there: Christian Griffen, designer of Anima Prime and Beast Hunters; Ben Robbins, designer of Microscope; John Harper, designer of Agon and Lady Blackbird; Jake Richmond, designer of GXB and Panty Explosion; Joel Shempert, designer of The Dreaming Crucible; Nathanael Cole, designer of Cannibal Contagion, and Ben Lehman, designer of Polaris and Bliss Stage. I’m sure there will be many others as well–I spotlight roleplaying design because that’s what I know. Come to the feast of gaming!

So that’s what it comes down to: great games with new people. I pointed out designers because people know who they are, but really, if you come and engage with people around the games you’re passionate about, you’re going to meet any number of people worth knowing and gaming with, designers or no.

Book your hotel room, call your friend about crash space, and register. See you there!
