Arrow Finds its Oliver
Following up on the pilot pickup news recently reported here at GFBRobot it appears that the CW has made a decision on who will become their new Green Arrow. Deadline is reporting that actor Stephen Amell has been cast as the lead in the CW’s newest comic book adaptation. Amell is probably best known for his recent stint on HBO’s Hung but will be known to CW fans for his guest appearances on The Vampire Diaries and 90210. A native of Canada, Amell gained some notice a year or so ago as he was swept up in the world-wide casting search to be Andy Whitfield’s replacement on Spartacus. We all now know that the Spartacus role went to Aussie Liam McIntyre but now Amell is getting a chance to lead his own show.
I am not very familiar with Amell’s acting experience but he certainly looks like he would be able to pull off the superhero look and what will likely be an action-heavy role. What does everyone else think; did the CW hit the target with this one?

It breaks my heart that I dropped Green Arrow after three issues of the New 52. He was always one of my favourites.
From the appearence, it looks like tehy’re running with the younger New 52 version. Which I think is a good thing for a TV show (just not for the comics).
I look forward to seeing how this pans out. I hope it works.
