Space Stallions: A Tribute to the Awesomeness of 80′s Cartoons

Do people look at 80′s cartoons through rose-tinted glasses? If you think that putting together Brave Starr, He-Man, She-Ra, Thundercats, Silver Hawks and Galaxy Rangers would produce the AWESOMEST CARTOOON EVARRR, then the answer is a resounding YES!

Not convinced? Then take a gander at the product of such a lovechild: Space Stallions!

As darkness is covering the multiverse, far away in the galaxy of the wild stallion, a spark of hope is born. Guided by the light of Mother Mustang, the Space Stallions must defeat the Demon of darkness, Destructo.

Produced by Danish students of The Animation Workshop for a 2012 bachelor film project, if this little tribute (complete with electro-synth, cheesy names, and lyrics seemingly written with little thought put into them) doesn’t bring you back 30 years… I don’t know what will.

And adding a little film grain, even if a lot of it was made in 3D? Nice touch! (^_^)

Bravo, Thorvaldur S. Gunnarsson, Jonatan Brüsch, Ágúst Kristinsson, Arna Snæbjørnsdottir, Esben J. Jespersen, Touraj Khosravi and Polina Bokhan… bravo!
