A Hero in a Seaside Town

Coinciding with the release of Mudman #3 on February 14, Image Comics has announced that we’ll also see a reprinting of the first two issues of the popular series. Readers wanting to catch up on Paul Grist’s unique (and sold out) take on the superhero will now get their chance. The second printing of Mudman #1 will boast a brand spanking new cover by Grist and the cover of Mudman #2 will have new coloring.

Mudman’s protagonist, Owen Craig, is a distinctly British superhero. As a teen in an English seaside town, he feels like he’s different and soon discovers just how different he is. With his body suddenly (and literally) turning to mud, Owen must learn to control it before he gets trapped in his tiny little hometown once and for all.

Image Comics Publisher Eric Stephenson has praise for Mudman:

Even after producing amazing work over the course of almost 20 years, Paul Grist remains one of comics’ best kept secrets. MUDMAN is just the latest example of Paul’s wonderfully unique sensibilities, and following the rave reviews the early issues have received, we want to this is something new readers can discover at any time.

Mudman is a full-color comic, released monthly, for US $3.50 per issue and is available in print and digital platforms.
