ABC’s Last Resort

A recent story from Deadline announced a pilot pickup for the new project from Shawn Ryan and writer Karl Gajdusek. The show, being produced for ABC, is described as:
[A] thriller set in the near future when the country is very fractured and revolves around a crew of a US nuclear submarine who become fugitives after they ignore an order to fire nuclear missiles. They go on to declare themselves as the world’s smallest nuclear nation with a total of 24 nuclear warheads.
Deadline also announced that acclaimed director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) is set to direct the pilot, which will begin to explore the society that the fugitives create and how their actions affect the group’s unity.
Quite an interesting premise for a show on network TV. Shawn Ryan’s involvement definitely has me intrigued. Are the premise or Ryan’s involvement enough for anyone else?
