Celebrity D&D Voyeurism 101

Want to watch beautiful people in LA play D&D? Wait, come back, let me clarify: NO KARDASHIANS!

Better? Ok, cool. So here’s the scoop. Starting soon, and today (Saturday, January 28th) only, you can tune in to live feeds of folks playing D&D from the one and only Meltdown Comics in LA. A great way to indulge in a little D&D voyeurism on a Saturday afternoon, and also a great way to help charity. That’s right, donations to watch the feeds start at $1, and the proceeds go to Reach Out and Read.

“But Andrew, I don’t care about kids! The little monsters can go-” Whoa, where’s THAT coming from? Really? How can you find anything offensive about a charity that supports kids learning to read?! And all that over just a DOLLAR? Stop being a dick and go to there, already! What, STILL not your cup of tea? Okay, looks like they’ve got you covered too, tough guy. How about buying a PDF of the Keith Baker-written game materials for $5? Does that interest your selfish heart? Thought so.

In all seriousness, this seems like a great way to kill an afternoon, I just might have to put it on to listen to in the background during my minis painting session today. And the price is certainly right: at a minimum donation of a buck a table, skip the extra Snickers at this week’s D&D game at your local game store, and toss a shekel to some folks using our favorite fake worlds to do some good in the real world.

Wow, that’s…interesting. It could be seriously good entertainment, depending on which celebrities are playing. And it’s great that D&D is being associated with something other than devil worship to the wider population.

When you said celebrity, I thought you might mean you, Andrew. Then you said ‘beautiful.’
