World War Z May End Up As a Trilogy
In many respects, 2011 was The Year of the Zombie. We saw The Walking Dead TV show and comic book reach new heights in storytelling, which kicked off the inevitable stream of zombie-themed movies and television shows. Probably the most anticipated movie is the adaptation of Max Brooks’ World War Z, starring Brad Pitt. Of course, just as soon as it was revealed that this movie was being made, the overall synopsis was revealed to leave off the “aftermath” conceit—leading many fans of the book stymied (to say the least). But, the L.A. Times recently interviewed Brad Pitt, who revealed that World War Z might end up as a trilogy. This gives me hope that we may see all the key elements of the book that would be left out in a more trimmed-down, Hollywood-ized version of the film. Here’s hoping it comes true. *crosses fingers*. The zombie apocalypse is set to occur on the big screen when World War Z premiers December 21, 2012 (U.S. release).
