Heroclix: Lord of the Rings Preview—Faramir

Howdy Clixers.

Today’s Heroclix: Lord of the Rings preview out of Wizkids/NECA is another of the sons of Gondor, the youngest son of the House of Denethor, Ranger of Ithillien, and leader of the garrison at Osgiliath. Let’s take a look at the tiny, plastic version of Faramir.

Faramir starts off showing everyone why he is worthy of leading the Rangers of Ithilien with his Ranger Captain special power:

Faramir can use Enhancement, Running Shot, and Stealth.

Faramir’s Ranger Captain special power gives him the tools needed to get into the best possible spot for his ranged combat as well as his own protection and on top of that to support the ranged attacks of his teammates. Faramir has an 8-range value, so his teammates will definitely take advantage of this special power.

On the second click, Faramir’s attack value lowers a bit, but he gains Willpower and Leadership. This combination of powers allows Faramir to ignore pushing damage and also potentially gain actions for his teammates.

Towards the end of his dial, Faramir drops his Ranger Captain special power, but gains regular Running Shot as well as Penetrating/Psychic Blast and his He’s Not Dead! special power:

Faramir can use Toughness. When turning the dial, if this click is revealed due to damage taken from an opponent’s attack, stop turning the dial and give Faramir an action token that doesn’t deal pushing damage.

Weighing in at a decent 65 points, Faramir is a move-and-attack with fairly consistent combat values that will be perfect for your Soldier and Warrior keyword teams, and those teams’ll love him for it.

That’s it for today, but I’ll keep you posted next time as we explore more of Middle Earth.

Til then, keep on Clixin’.
