PokéMob Minecraft Mod: Gotta’ Craft ‘Em All

If you build it, they will come. If you give them blocks, they will build. If there are free-roaming Pokémon, people will try to catch ‘em all. And where would you find free-roaming Pokémon, short of having to run back and forth through patches of 2D grass? Why, in Minecraft, of course!

The video above by Captain Sparklez (via GameSetWatch) is an overview of the Minecraft mod PokéMobs. Created by SeaGoingManatee, PokéMobs aims to add the original 151 Pokémon to Minecraft. The video below has SeaGoingManatee himself showing off a cute Bulbasaur and an annoying Charmander.

The mod is far from being complete. Aside from completing the 151 Pokémon, SeaGoingManatee is aiming to include gyms, items, and some form of combat to the mod. With the help of new co-coder Pwootage, they recently managed to get Pokéballs working.

Head on over to the PokéMobs site for news on the mod’s progress and to download the current builds. Installation instructions and basic crafting formulas can be found at the PokéMobs thread in the Minecraft forums. If you’re into making 3D models, perhaps you’d want to lend a hand by submitting some at the PokéMob Forums.
