CAKE! Chicago Alternative Comics Expo: June 16-17, 2012

I’ve been interested in Chicago’s independent comics scene for a while, and now I have a great excuse to go visit and check it out in person (and stalk Chris Ware!). Chicago has quite a few comic artists and publishers, and with its location this should be a great expo. Taking place at Columbia College’s Ludington Building, the Chicago Alternative Comics Expo will feature over 100 exhibitors as well as lectures, panels, and workshops.
With Chris Ware, Anders Nilson, Jeffrey Brown, and so many other local Windy City comic artists, as well as those traveling to be a part of this, it should be fantastic. If you’re interested in learning more about alternative comic scene in Chicago, a site to check out is The Holy Consumption.
