Wonder Woman Fail! NBC Declines to Pick Up Pilot.

Slashfilm just told me something I knew was going to happen, the Wonder Woman series has been passed on by NBC and is likely doomed for failure. It seems though that it has failed even quicker than I thought it would. Everything seemed to go wrong for this from the start. A lot of people didn’t care for the choice of Adrianne Palicki for the lead, the script was awful, the costume was ridiculed and reviled, nothing was done right. Truthfully I am glad that NBC is passing on the series outright. I think that if it had proceeded with this dud it would have endangered the future of comic-to-small-screen adaptations. I doubt anyone else will pick it up seeing as every else already passed on it once. Maybe next time they will go with someone like a Joss Whedon —who has some knowledge and experience in the geeky genre—as opposed to David E. Kelley. Last time I checked Wonder Woman was a bad-ass super heroine, not a really in need of a sandwich lawyer.

Wasn’t Joss working on a Wonder Woman move at some point a few years ago?

I’m sure he was working on a Wonder Woman move also, but I actually meant “movie”.

Now I can’t stop picturing Joss Whedon doing a Wonder Woman move. I’m thinking something involving the golden lasso. Or maybe those big gold bracelets. Because he’d definitely need to be in the costume.

    Man. I really hate that we’ll never see this… I know it’s last week’s news, but I’ve been stewing over this… :(

Well, I’d prefer to not see than see a terrible version of it.
