The Inevitable: Lindsay Lohan Gets a Comic

Do you give a damn about Lindsay Lohan’s bad reputation?

Bluewater Productions is hoping that you do. According to their website, the sometimes controversial publisher is set to publish a biographical comic about the also-controversial star in September. The book is planned as the second in their Infamous series of comics about stars known for their off-screen troubles and tribulations as much as, if not more than, their on-screen work. (The first, unsurprisingly, is about Charlie Sheen).

Bluewater has been releasing these biographical comics for a few years now, focusing primarily on political, cultural, and entertainment figures. This particular line focuses as much on scandal as on achievement (if Justin Beiber can be said to have achievements), making it potentially more scandalous than what they’ve done in the past. Bluewater seems to be trying to preemptively cool any potential anger over the subject, or at least shield themselves against it, by offering to “donate some of the potential profits to a charity of [Lindsay's] choosing”; the Lohan camp has, as of today, not responded to the offer.

Infamous: Lindsay Lohan (32 pgs; $3.99 US) is written by Marc Shapiro (who’s also writing the Charlie Sheen book). It is illustrated, in his American debut, by Japanese artist Mimei Sakamoto (who himself might qualify for an Infamous issue). And yes, it’s going to be done in a manga style. Of course, you know what that means:
